Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what we need to send beautiful invitations and gather replies, we never sell anyone's information, and guests are never tracked for advertising.
Who we are
Répondez (repondez.love) is a wedding invitation and RSVP service operated by Dagmawi Eshete, an individual based in Maryland, USA. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Répondez. Questions or requests go to support@repondez.love.
Couples: what we collect
When you create an account and plan your wedding with us, we collect:
- Your email address and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them).
- Wedding details you enter: names, date, venue, schedule, wording, design choices and photos you upload.
- Payment details when you upgrade. Payments are handled by Stripe; we receive confirmation of the purchase but never your card number.
- Messages you send us, for example replies to our emails.
Guests: what we collect
Couples add their guests so we can deliver invitations and collect replies. For each guest we may hold a name, email address, phone number, household, and the replies they give: attendance, meal choice, dietary notes and the name of a plus-one.
- Guests never need an account. Each guest gets a private link; we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of it.
- Guest information is used only to run that wedding's invitations and RSVPs. It's never sold or used for advertising.
- Guest pages never load advertising or tracking pixels.
- Dietary notes can reveal health or religious information. Only the couple who invited you can see them, and only to plan the meal.
How we use information
- To provide the service: build invitations, send emails, record RSVPs and show couples their replies.
- To send account emails such as sign-up confirmations and password resets.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems.
- To measure our own advertising, only for visitors who accept cookies (see below).
Cookies
Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice. They're needed for the site to work, so they're always on.
Marketing cookies (optional): if you click “Accept”, we load Meta's pixel, which tells us when someone who saw our ads visits or signs up. Meta may combine this with information it already has about you under its own policies. If you click “Decline”, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the pixel never loads.
You can change your mind anytime with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
Who helps us run Répondez
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Resend: sending email.
- Stripe: payments.
- Meta: advertising measurement, only if you accept marketing cookies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
We don't sell personal information
We don't sell personal information. If you accept marketing cookies, some laws (including California's) treat the Meta pixel as “sharing” for advertising. It only runs with your opt-in, and you can turn it off anytime in Cookie settings.
How long we keep it
- Account and wedding information stays while your account is open. Ask us to close your account and we'll delete it.
- Guest RSVP links stop working 30 days after the wedding date.
- Photos are deleted when you remove them or delete your wedding.
- Backups may keep deleted data for a short period before it's overwritten.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Guests can ask the couple, or write to us directly and we'll help. Email support@repondez.love and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including complaining to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted so each couple can only see their own wedding, and guest links are random and stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
Children
Accounts are for adults planning a wedding. Couples may list guests of any age (like a flower girl) so they can be counted; we use that information only for the wedding.
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, with appropriate safeguards.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell couples by email about significant changes.
